Last year we did the small-car-to-Mongolia thing when we got a Micra and a Polo to Ulaan Baatar under their own steam. It's a forumla that works so we're trying it again, this time with a Renault Clio and a 2CV.

Genghis McCann is maso's car - a 1990 2CV that's currently being primped and pimped for the long journey ahead. Kate and Varnish will be driving the as yet nameless 1995 diesel Clio. Once again we will be calling in the mechanical favours in the hopes these vehicles will be roadworthy and rally-ready by July.

Many thanks to Pat for the 2CV and Kate's ma and da for the Clio. Unfortunately their camper van was out of the question.
